The Surest way to End Your Life in Regret

Most people simply follow the rules of their society, culture and religion around them. If the religion around them is secular humanism, they simply go along to get along. They live completely reasonable lives, being prudent, being mainstream — being “safe” in the herd.

In short, they totally fail at greatness. You’re not given the privilege of living inside a human body on this Earth all in order to be mediocre. You are here to be magnificent. That does not mean self-focused. It means living for a grand purpose, larger than yourself. You live to serve others in a cause that compels you forward and out of your comfort zone.

Instead of being radiant, they play at life “safe” only to find they have lost their true heart and passion in the process. They fade away with a whimper, barely leaving a mark. They obey their impulses, their impulses for security, for respectability, for safety. They accomplish little as a result.

Greatness lies outside your familiar comfort zone. To reach for greatness means constantly challenging old, even cherished, beliefs. It means taking risk after risk. It means overcoming the lesser you. It means going against the grain of the norm.

You cannot both be safe and accepted and be your individual self at the same time. What we have today in society is false individuality — where Madison Avenue teaches that self-expression means which shoes or car you drive. In other words, they give you false choices that are not really meaningful to distract you from making a really positive impact on life around you.

The security-driven never aspire to faith, never trust anything larger than the trends of the moment. They are leaves driven by the wind, appearing to be animated for a few decades of their life, only to drift cowards in a brittle spiral.

Growth and Development is being your truest self.

You have been given a mind to use it and innovate. You have been given a heart to radically love others with. By playing at life safe, you only end up complaining at all the uncertainties. You never get to experience yourself as truly powerful; you never answered the call of the wild. You live like a little fish in a fishbowl with waters of vague dissatisfaction, reaching for more and more coping strategies and creature comforts to dull a nagging sense that you were meant for something more. Nothing great is ever achieved by being reasonable. You never dared greatly — and thus never know either victory or defeat beyond the canned sports programs that flit across your big screen television.

You want to end your life in regret? Then don’t meaningfully break out of your comfort zone. Don’t answer the call of the wild. Don’t seek any cause other than your immediate gratification. Don’t do things that draw forth criticism. Don’t stand for truth; embrace any lie if it provides a comforting familiarity and reinforces your justifications to not change. Avoid actual intimacy. Just repeat the mainstream memes of each day, and be an actor in your own life, stating them with a false conviction as if they are your own words.

Now you can consciously pursue a lemming mindset of total mediocrity. If that’s what you want, then go boldly forth into your respectable, your perfectly reasonable nothingness.

Are you here to merely give the oligarchs and globalists what they want? Your silent obedient consent? Or are you here to be a force for goodness? Your actions declare the choice you are really making. Choose growth and development — and of course the most meaningful area is in spiritual intimacy with Jesus.
